Top Italian Reds

Sat 26th Nov 2016 - 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Price: £35.00

Bold, full bodied & delicious Italy produces some of the world’s best red wine offering variety, quality & style with diverse wine-growing regions from the cool, mountainous northern region of Piedmont to the sunny, temperate central region of Tuscany. Italian wines have a complexity and earthiness that reflects the soil, the unique Italian grape varietals, and Italian winemaker craft.

TAURASI 2008
The Terredora Taurasi displays ruby red color with garnet reflections. Pronounced and complex with notes of cherry, wild berries, spicy scents of violet and tobacco with a mineral accent. Elegant, smooth, velvety and intense with characteristic hints of plums, black cherries, black pepper and tar; full-bodied and austere on the palate with balanced tannins and acidity

BRUNELLO 2009
Ruby red with garnet hues & a very intense, lingering & stylish bouquet with small dark berry fruit notes. The palate is dry, warm, quite smooth & tannic and the after-aroma is long-lasting.

MONTEPULCIANO VILLA GEMMA
As evidence of the uniqueness and the history of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Villa Gemma”, Masciarelli decided not to produce vintages 2009 and 2010, while the 2007 vintage was made out after 2008 to strengthen the quality of wine and enhance the excellent results of climate during this vintage. Intense and elegant hints of tobacco and dark chocolate.

Amarone 2011
Deep, almost opaque in colour, with a pronounced nose of Morello cherries, oak & spice. On the palate it is rich and powerful, with tannins & considerable texture and complexity. This is a powerful wine of great character.
